Who is Michelle Elizabeth Flaherty?
Born in January of 1991, Michelle has always loved music! She grew up on 80s kid sing-a-long tapes, Disney movies, and Sunday school songs -- this was only the beginning...
Michelle's musical ability was first discovered and explored in her church choir. Coming from a musical family, Michelle developed a curiosity for the guitar and discovered her latent guitar abilities in the summer of 2005. Her love of 6 string guitar soon grew into a love of 12 string guitar. In the summer of 2008, Michelle took the plunge into the wonderful 4 stringed world of ukuleles -- and THIS began Michelle's obsession with stringed instruments!
From guitar and ukulele to autoharp, mandolin and piano, Michelle has tinkered with a variety of stringed instruments with various sounds -- Her musical taste is fairly eclectic and she loves the music of the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and some of the music of today. Her biggest influences are Melissa Etheridge, Indigo Girls, Karen Carpenter and Fleetwood Mac.
Michelle probably should have been born 30 years earlier and she is a bit of a Jesus freak -- Music is her way of life, and a splash of color makes her happy! "When you learn to love yourself, you will dissolve all the stones that are cast, you will learn to burn the icing sky and to melt the waxen mask. Yes, to have the gift of true release, this is a peace that will take you higher. I come to you with my offering, I bring you strange fire." - Amy Ray
